Erin MacKenzie is a Naturopathic Doctor practicing in Scotsville/North Lake Ainslie, Inverness County.

Her practice utilizes the naturopathic modalities including acupuncture, botanical medicine, clinical nutrition, counselling, hydrotherapy and homeopathy. 

Dr MacKenzie, ND has an ongoing interest in how culture shapes well-being and how our larger cultural narratives affect individuals.

Erin couldn’t be happier to have found home in Inverness County. Like most Cape Bretoners, she’ll happily share who her father is and where she came from. In her spare time you’ll find her reading, renovating, yoga-ing, learning Gaelic and spending time outside with her new family and Mr. Parker, their constant canine companion

Training:

  • Dr MacKenzie, ND graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto in 2012.

  • She studied at McGill University’s School of Environment and completed a Bachelor of Science degree.


Continuing Education

  • Dr. MacKenzie, ND is committed to staying up to date with the newest discoveries in medicine and science. Dr. MacKenzie, ND does not hesitate to seek senior colleague's input in difficult cases and considers this an important part of being a responsible naturopathic doctor.

  • NDs in Nova Scotia are required to complete a minimum of 40 hours of Continuing Education training every 2 years, including in person seminars and professional association meetings. NDs in Canada are also required to have up to date CPR certificates.

  • Participated in the Nova Scotia Naturopathic Conference 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017.

  • She participates in webinars from Health Masters Live which brings world experts on health topics to natural health professionals around the world. So far these include:

    • Natural Pregnancy Master Class (12 hours)

    • Pharmacology Master Class (12 hours)

    • Chronic Kidney Disease Master Class (6 hours)

    • Natural Approaches to ADHD (2 hours)

  • Before graduating from CCNM Dr. MacKenzie, ND completed weekend trainings with Lou Klein Homeopath and Dr Massimo Mangialavori Homoepath.

  • As part of her requirements to be a member of the College of Naturopathic Doctors of Alberta she is currently taking the Therapeutics Education Collaboration Course on pharmacy and evidenced based best practices in medicine https://www.therapeuticseducation.org.
